MI Local Hops deals directly with the buyer. We offer spot purchases with no minimums.  We’re happy to work with customers who would like to contract hops. We also sell our hops on The Lupulin Exchange. The fastest way to purchase our hops is by contacting Sales & Marketing Manager Mike Moran at Mikem@milocalhops.com.

Pelletized hops are stored in our cold storage facility and are packaged in 11 lb boxes, or a 44 lb box with 2/22 lb bags. Freight and Parcel shipping prices are quoted thru CH Robinson, Fed Ex, and UPS.

Cascade (Aroma) – (2016 & 2017 available)  (High Volume Available)

Typical Alpha Acid: 4.5 – 7.0% Beta Acids 4.8% – 7.0% Total Oil 0.7 – 1.4 ml/100g

Aroma: Medium to intense floral aroma with hints of citrus and grapefruit.

Centennial (Dual-Purpose)– (2016 & 2017 available)  (High Volume Available)

Typical Alpha Acid: 9.5% – 11.5% Beta Acids 3.0% – 5.0%  Total Oil 1.4 – 2.5 ml/100g

Aroma: Flowers and citrus are most evident. A medium aroma with mid to high bittering value makes it a dual purpose favorite.

Crystal (Aroma) –  (2017 crop year now available)

Typical Alpha Acid: 4.0 – 7.0%  Beta Acids 5.0% – 7.0%  Total Oil 0.8 – 2.1 ml/100g

Aroma: Mild spice with clean floral finishing notes.

Michigan Chinook (Dual Purpose) – ( 2017 crop year now available) Typical Alpha Acid: 12.0 – 14.0%

Aroma: Michigan Chinook differs from the Chinook hops out west. Very intense pineapple and grapefruit aroma along with some piney notes.

Michigan Chinook recently won the inaugural 2018 Michigan Chinook Cup presented by the Hop Growers of Michigan.

2017 Michigan Chinook is now available in 11 lb and 44 lb packaging (2-22 lb bags) on the Lupulin Exchange

 

Michigan Copper (Aroma) – (2016 & 2017 crop year now available) Typical Alpha Acid: 7.0 – 9.0% (Michigan Proprietary)

Aroma: Hawaiian fruit punch with a resin kick. Undertones of black pepper and citrus.

 

Nugget (High Alpha) – (2016 & 2017 crop year now available) Typical Alpha Acid: 11.5 – 14.0%

Aroma: Very pungent with heavy spice and herbal tones

US Magnum (Bittering) – (2017 crop year available now!)

Alpha Acid: 11.0% – 16.0%  Beta Acids 5.0% – 7.0% Total Oil 1.0 – 2.6 ml/100g

Aroma: Very subtle aroma that is very similar to Saaz. Mild spice and slightly floral but this hop is meant for bittering and it brings the aroma hops to the forefront!

Sorachi Ace (Dual Purpose) – (2017 crop year available now!)

Alpha Acid: 12.0% – 16.0%  Beta Acids 6.0% – 7.0% Total Oil 2.0 – 3.0 ml/100g

Aroma: Sorachi Ace grown in Michigan casts aromas of lemon, coconut, and a slight dill aroma. This hop has the most unique aroma within the MI Local Hops catalog.

Willamette (Aroma) – (2016 & 2017 crop year now available)

Alpha Acid: 4.0% – 6.0%%  Beta Acids 3.5% – 4.5% Total Oil 0.5 – 1.5 ml/100g

Aroma: Mild and pleasant, with a fragrant spicy woody aroma.
